When You Are Attacked For Your Faith By The World, Stand Strong in Christ

Before I had this blog, I had an Instagram account dedicated to Jesus and only Him. The account ended up getting deleted due to a mix up and an error, so I can’t get it back, but there is one thing I remember from that time that randomly crossed my mind. There was this atheistic account on Instagram that sent so many people to my page to “troll me,” but though they may sent me mean comments, I didn’t back down from my faith.

When you stand for Christ, there will be many people who will make it their mission to knock you down, lash out at you, and the list continues. The world views us as trespassers, so they attack us for we deny the “social normality,” but we shouldn’t become fearful and back down, we should stand strong in Christ.

“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12

When you desire to live a godly life, you will suffer for the world will not agree. You will have people yelling millions of things at you to try to shake you, but don’t let these comments get to you, because it’s going to happen. When you stand against the world, people aren’t going to like it for you are calling them out on their sin, which is something the world does not like.

“For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” 1 Peter 3:17

Like 1 Peter says, it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. This earth is only temporary, and then you have eternity! Our time on earth cannot compare to our time in heaven! We will be with Jesus forever, there will be no more sin, and all that suffering that we went through on earth will be worth it!

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”” Revelation 21:4

Can you imagine the day when God wipes away all of our tears? Can you imagine living in heaven with no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more death? Therefore, why are we going to let what someone says shake us? When we are confronted by someone of the world, we must stand strong in Christ, for He already defeated the world.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

Though we may go through areas that seem to be destructive, full of death, and full of people who are against us, we should fear no evil because Jesus is with us! With the reassurance of knowing that He is there, we should stand for Christ and not be afraid to! We should not be afraid to tell society “I follow Christ” because we are considered blessed when we are persecuted for His namesake!

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Since God is for us, nothing can stand against us! We have the most powerful God on our side! Like I mentioned before, Jesus conquered the grave, so with Him on our side, we shouldn’t fear anything on this earth! They may ridicule you, pester you, and all sorts of things, but they can’t stop the truth! Though they may be persistent on stopping us, we shouldn’t because there might be that one person who does accept Christ and realizes that Jesus is the answer.

This world may be full of people who are ready to attack those who believe in Christ, but there is one thing about it, Jesus already won when He gave us salvation; therefore, this world has lost! It doesn’t matter how many insults there are, Christ won and He will forever reign, so the next time you encounter a person who is putting up a fight or yelling at you, don’t let that shake you, but stand strong in Christ, for the more you defend His Word, the more people will notice. Though they may not accept the truth, we are commanded to witness, for there are many people on earth that are in need of Him, so we must not stop even if it means suffering for His namesake.

  1. This was good ! Sometimes I ask myself if it’s even worth it. I know choosing Jesus is worth so much more than I could imagine but sometimes it does get tempting to go back to the world , the same world that almost killed me is the same world I want to go back to at times. Crazy . Love your post!
