Imagine being in a situation that you could not control. Whether that be a horrible storm or a trial that you think you will never get through, we must trust Christ to protect us through storms the may come at us. Instead of thinking of what we can do to stop the situation, we must depend on Christ for His strength is much stronger than ours. Christ defeated the grave, so the next time you see a situation that is dangerous, run to Him and have faith for with God, He can do all things.
“And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” Matthew 8:24-27
Jesus was disappointed with the disciples when they showed little faith. Though the storm looked deadly and menacing, Christ still calmed the waves with just the sound of His voice; therefore, instead of panicking, we must realize that we have a Savior who can move the mountains and can make the waves calm with just His voice.
Like I stated earlier, Jesus defeated the grave, which means He can do anything, so why worry when you see trouble on the horizon? Yes, it is human nature to become fearful and scared, but when we let our emotions take complete control, we forget who is in control.
“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Why fear when Christ is your refuge and strength? He will be there when trouble arises, so instead of letting your thoughts and emotions run wild, remain calm and trust Christ, for He will not lead you into disaster.
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”” Deuteronomy 31:6
Why should we be fearful when the Lord will never forsake us? Christ is with us when we wake up, He is with us throughout the day, and He is with us always; therefore, we must trust that He will get us through our trials. Though we may not be able to figure out a solution, we can rest in the thought of knowing that Jesus knows the answer. Jesus already knows the future and He has plans of hope for us, so whatever troubles we are going through will not prevail, for Christ will guide us through them and silence them.
“He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.” Psalm 121:3
Jesus is always watching over us and there isn’t a moment He stops watching us. He will protect us, so He will make sure no evil can harm us. Why are we going to be afraid of the world when God has already defeated it? When God is on our side, nothing can stand against, so the next time a situation you cannot control comes up, trust the one who knows the answers to all things.
There will be times where we are in situations that are heartbreaking, unnerving, and even fearful, but God promised that He would never leave our side. Instead of thinking about depending on our strengths and what we could do, we should run to Jesus and call on His name, for He has the power to end any suffering and trial that we are in.
He is always strong, He is always watching, and He is always there, so we must put our complete trust and faith into Him, and even though times get difficult, we have a God who is much greater than any battle we may ever go through, so trust Him to keep you safe.
