In our current day, we have many things that are going on. We have promiscuity, immorality, an “everything is okay” standard, and we have no good influences who are setting the standards for virtuous living for little girls! Therefore, ladies, as godly women, we must set the standard and live the standard of being a godly woman.
We do not know the little girls who are watching us, nor do we know the girls who want to be like us, which should spark motivation to live a godly life! Each and every one of us inspire someone! Whether it be a five year old, a ten year old, a sixteen year old, or even a twenty year old girl in college. Someone wants to be like you!
With the thought of someone wanting to be like you, would you be happy with them being just like you? Are you living godly? Are there any traits that that could possibly be considered a bad example? Are you setting the standard for virtuous living?
No one is perfect, and you will mess up, but you should strive to live godly. We live in a time where ungodliness is considered “attractive,” but godliness is considered “unattractive.” As Christian ladies, we need to be the ones to say “No,” to the status quo, and set an example.
“Abstain from every form of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22
We are commanded to avoid every form of evil, for when you entertain devils, you will begin to strain your walk with Christ, your morals will be shaken, and your conscience will become seared. The very problem with out society is that consciences are seared! No one cares about whether they go to heaven or hell, and no one cares about the examples they are setting.
Every day, someone is born, and they are going to have to make a decision on whether to follow Christ or deny Christ. If we as women, live our lives like Christ wants us too, these young ones will see the light, and they will question! The more a young one questions, the more truth they will crave!
“Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.” Proverbs 31:25
As women, our clothing is strength and honor and we rejoice in times to come; therefore, we should let the joy of the Lord shine throughout us, we should depend on Christ’s strength, and we should honor and gain wisdom from the Lord, for He is the Author for all knowledge and wisdom! The outside does not compare to what is in the inside; therefore, focus on Christ!
“She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.” Proverbs 31:26
Everyone loves Proverbs 31:25, but let’s move down one verse, for it shows us an even bigger insight to how we should be as virtuous women. A virtuous woman does not speak with foolishness, but she speaks with wisdom. A virtuous woman speaks with kindness and knows no heartless speech.
This is what we need to focus on, for this is what will influence others the most. We must clothe ourselves with strength and honor, we must be joyful, we must speak of wisdom and not foolishness, and we must speak with kindness. When little girls see this, they will be inspired. They will want to be you, grow up to be you, which is not a bad thing.
However, when a little girl sees a professed believer clothing herself with immodesty, lies, loudness, foolishness, and spite, the girl will think that this is “okay.” Children will think it is okay because you are doing it! They will say “It’s okay to wear that, do that, and talk like that because she does!”
We need to fight against our society, for our society is trying to build an army of ungodly women who fight for the right to do anything and everything even if it is ungodly. As godly women, we must fight with the armor of God and set the standard that He has set for us! Proverbs 31 wasn’t written for some people or a few people, it was written for every woman who follows Christ! It is the life that we should live and desire to live!
When we live our lives for Christ and strive to be virtuous, we will be inspiring many other girls to do the same! We live in a time where beauty is based on the outside and not the inside. We live in a world where little girls can’t enjoy being little girls because it’s considered “sexist,” but that is simply not true.
Stand firm, stand tall, and live virtuously, for you don’t know how many little girls are watching you. Would you want someone echoing your life? Are there things that need to be changed, if so, pray for strength and read Proverbs 31, for God will convict you of what needs to change!
