Almost everyone is aware of the current state of our society, and as you see, we have people who are rebelling against our president, causing total destruction, and we have people who are completely embarrassing themselves due to the lack of knowledge. We live in a generation where people think they are entitled, deserve everything, and think that they do not need Jesus. In a world full of millennials, be a Christ follower.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17
As believers in Christ, we must not be of the world. To follow Christ, you must give up the lusts, the foolishness, the wickedness, and the evil self-centered ways of the world. We must deny ourselves, we must deny our flesh, and we must not allow ourselves to conform to society just because everyone else is. Just because your favorite celebrity said something, does not mean it’s gospel truth.
As I said before, we live in a time where most people think they are entitled. We live in a time where conservatism is out the window, and if you hold any conservative values, then you are called a “bigot,” a “narrow-minded person,” and “uneducated.” All of these claims do not matter, for I would rather be called a bigot, closed-minded, and “uneducated” rather than disown God.
Our society has completely thrown God out of the window, but as believers, we can bring Him back into the equation. No matter how hard unsaved people try, you can never silence Jesus! You can never put Him in a box, you can never contain Him, and you cannot control Him. Therefore, the agenda of the unsaved will fail, for the power of Christ can never be stopped, so why are we hiding our faith? Why are we giving up when Christ wins in the end?
“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”” Matthew 26:41
Many Christians are giving into our entitled society because they think it will be easier to accept it rather than reject it. Did Jesus decide not to die for us because it would be easier to let us to go to Hell rather than drink the cup of wrath? No, He did not, so we have no excuses! To follow Christ, you must deny and reject all sin!
As believers, we should be ashamed of the actions of this world! We should be repulsed, disgusted, and downright disappointed. The Bible is very clear on what is holy and unholy, so why are we trying to justify the acts of this world when Christ says the world is lost and dying?
“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12
When you desire to live godly and follow Christ, the world is immediately your enemy, so why are so many Christians trying to impress the world? Why are so many Christians willing to put their faith on the line just to have the world love them?
““No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”” Luke 16:13
You cannot love the world and love God at the same time, for you cannot have two masters. Either you follow Christ or you follow the world. Either you follow God and His principles or you follow the entitled world that we live in today who thinks they do not need God.
In a world full of millennials, be a follower of Christ. Instead of trying to fit in with the status quo, follow God’s principles! Instead of being offended of God’s Word, become a lover and a defender of God’s Word. Salvation is open to everyone, and as believers in Christ, we must spread the gospel to everyone so they may be saved!
When we allow ourselves to fall into our sinful society, we hinder God from working in our lives. How can we let God work in us when we are distancing ourselves from Him? With our society, we must cling to God, for the unsaved world is just waiting for you to fall so they can attack you.
It’s time that we get tough! Being a Christian isn’t easy, and being a Christian takes a brave and fearless soul. Times are only going to get worse, so we need to strengthen our walk with Jesus! When the world continues to die, we must continue to thrive in Christ, but you must be willing to deny the world, and you must be willing to dodge any of the snarls thrown at you. Will you deny our entitled society, or will you stand with God and say “No” to world? The choice is yours.
