Being Content With God’s Blessings

God has a plan for everyone, even if we do not know what His plan is, but no matter what, we must be content with where He takes us. In every season, every trial, and every door we go through, we must remain happy and content with the crossroads that we are at.

““Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:25-26

We should not worry about life, for God will make all things work together for our good. Instead of worrying, we must be happy. Putting our problems in God’s hands and praising Him, will bring us joy and happiness. When we are satisfied with what God has blessed us with at our current point in life, we will not worry about the other things that will come, for we will know that He will let them come when they must come.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28

With the thought of knowing that God will make all things work together for our good, we should be happy with our lives! We shouldn’t worry, fear, or be unsatisfied. God has individual plans for each of our lives, so we should be content with the one He has for us.

We should be happy with the life He gave us. We all have our purpose in life, and we should be content with what He has for our purpose. What He has called someone else to do might not be what He wants you to do, so be content in His plans for you, for He knows where your future will go.

“A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones.” Proverbs 14:30

When we are happy with what God has given us, we are giving life to our bodies, but envy will rotten our bones! Being envious hurts you and leads to distress and disaster. If you are a college student, be content. While you are looking for a big break, be content. If you’re single, be content, and when God reveals His plan to you, be content!

Being content can be a difficult task if you are anxious in wanting something to happen right away. When this happens, pray for God to put contentment within you. Pray that He will make you see the happiness in your life at your current moment! There is happiness in all stages of life, and we should realize that instead of rushing to each stage in life.

If all we do is rush through life, we will never be able to look at the happiness that each phase we went through brought us. We will only picture the way we rushed our lives away instead of being content. Don’t worry about the future, for God is already there.

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:” Philippians 4:11

No matter what situation we are in, we must be content. God has a reason for why we are in the season of life that we are in, and we must be satisfied with that. We should not worry nor should we act out in fear. The best way to approach any situation is by being content and understanding that things are happening for a reason.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” Hebrews 13:5

God has a different purpose for each of us, and we should not envy someone else because of what God has planned for them. What God has planned for them is for them, so do not try to be like them for God has a different plan for you! He will never leave you and will always be there, so He hasn’t forgotten about you! Be content with the path that God has put you on, and do not envy others. An envious spirit is dangerous to the soul, which can cause you to become unhappy and unsatisfied!

When we take a step back and realize that God is in control of our lives, we will be able to be content with our current stage of life. Whether it’s being in a bad part or a good part of life, we should be content for He loves us! His love for us is enough for us! We do not need money, we do not need material things, and we do not need the approval of others to feel satisfied!

When we are content with our lives and with what God has blessed us with, we then humble ourselves and do not take anything for granted. Therefore, being content is important to see the actual blessings that God has given you. The next time you feel envious or unsatisfied about your situation, count your blessings and pray for contentment, because God has blessed you beyond belief!
