Prayer is an important part in the life of a believer. Prayer not only gives us the opportunity to confess our sins to the Lord, but it also connects us one on one with the Lord! Prayer is talking directly to God and strengths our relationship with Him! Prayer is important for it keeps our spirit full of awareness and it helps strengthen our faith in Him! When we keep our heart in prayer with Him, we have less of a chance of falling out of fellowship with Him.
“pray without ceasing,” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. Whether you are aware of it or not, your heart is in constant prayer with the Lord. Your soul cannot function without Him, so your heart prays without ceasing.
Besides keeping you connected to the Lord, prayer also helps you in your time of need. Whenever you are anxious, pray! Whenever you are in a tough time where you lost your job or you can’t seem to see the path in front of you, pray! Prayer keeps us from letting our fears overcome us!
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” Philippians 4:6
Whenever we have a request, a need, a desire, or whatever it is, we need to make it know to God! God has the power to do the impossible, but most times we don’t realize that! We shouldn’t limit God to only our abilities, for His abilities outweigh ours any day! Jesus raised Himself from the grave, therefore, He can do anything!
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14
Whenever we ask things in Jesus’ name, He will do it! Prayer is very important when it comes to needs we have. If you are sick, you can pray in His name for Him to take it away, and He will if you have faith that He will! If you are going to a job interview, and you are nervous about how it will turn out, pray to Him with faith, and He will answer your prayer! As long as what you are asking is in His will, He will do it!
Prayer has a lot of power. Prayer is there so we can confess to God about our sins, prayer is there so we can talk to God and have Him listen to our hearts, and prayer is there so we can tell him our issues and ask for an answer in His will!
Prayer is vital in the life of a believer, so always be in constant communication with the Lord. He should be the first person we talk to in the morning and the last person we talk to in the evening. Whether you are happy or sad, you should always pray to Him!
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.” James 5:13
James 5:13 tells us that whether we are happy or sad, we should still be in some form of communication with Him. When things go right, praise God, but when things are going south, pray to Him from help.
There is power in prayer. Prayer is so powerful, that it can move mountains, it can heal the brokenhearted, and with the blood of Jesus, it can do the impossible! With faith and communication with Christ, you can witness the power that is in prayer!
