We all have battles, struggles, temptations, and the list goes on, but with Christ, He is our strength and we can get through any battle by calling on His name, but what if we are in a trial in our lives where things seem to be going wrong? In situations where the answer is unknown, we must remain faithful.
They say that God gives His strongest battles to His strongest soldiers. God would not have given you your battle if He thought you could not handle it. Therefore, you must remain faithful and know that you will overcome this! Things happen to everyone, and just because you are a Christian does not mean you will not have battles.
The enemy likes to attack when you are trying to get closer to Christ. Satan would not mess with a person if they were not trying to get closer to the Lord, but the moment you try to improve or get closer to the Lord, you better believe that the enemy will be throwing curve balls at you, but we as believers need to doge them.
Satan knows his time is short, so he is trying to take as many souls to Hell as he can. Satan thinks he can turn people away from Christ, but one man in the Bible proved him wrong. This man faced many trials and tribulations, but he remained faithful and put all of his trust in Christ.
That man was Job. Job is a person we must aspire to be during our hard times. Almost everything happened to Job like his family dying, losing livestock, and so forth happened to him, but he remained faithful in Christ. What excuse do we as believers have? If Job can remain faithful, then we can too.
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;” Job 19:25
In the midst of Job’s storm, he knew that Christ lived and that Jesus would be the one to conquer all evil. That is how we should view any situation. No matter how big or how small, we must know that Christ will have the last word!
“And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21
Even though Job’s family died, he still remained faithful and still praised Jesus’ name. He knew and understood that the Lord gives and takes away, and that Jesus had a reason for doing so. Therefore, whenever someone dies or goes away, we should know that God has a reason for taking that person from the earth or from your life.
Job, again, is an example that we should look at when troubles arise. Job exemplified much faith and did not give up. As a believer, we should have a strong faith in Jesus and that all things will work together for our good!
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
As believers in Christ, we should know that all things will work out for our good; therefore, we should have strong faith that our trails will go away! Many, however, let the fear of their battle get to them, which causes them to lose faith and doubt God. The disciples did this when a storm was approaching. They didn’t have faith and were scared of the storm killing them.
Jesus was asleep when the storm was occurring, and He was very disappointed in the lack of faith the disciples had.
“Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:23-26
In the end, the storm was calmed. This shows that even though the storm is rough, Jesus will calm the storm. We must have faith and be persistent. We must stay strong and not give up.
Whether your battle is dealing with temptation or dealing with losing a loved one, stay faithful and do not give up! God knows what He is doing, and He will never lead you into disaster! (Jeremiah 29:11) If you are having trouble with keeping your faith, pray for God to take away your doubt and to increase your faith! With Christ, no one can harm you or destroy you, so don’t lose faith, for all things will work together for your good!
